I am also a co-organizer at GeoNYC, a monthly meetup with an audience of 150+ people (one of the largest geo-focused meetup groups in the US). We bring together 3-5 speakers every month for a themed meetup covering a wide range of technical and social dimensions of maps. Our organizing group focuses heavily on diversity and inclusion amongst the speakers.
